The AI Factory Austria AI:AT offers free coworking and office space for startups, companies, researchers and innovators who are helping to shape the future of artificial intelligence in Austria.
Our goal is to create a vibrant community where startups, business, academia and the public sector come together to turn AI ideas into reality.

- AI startups with AI as a core technology, product or service
- SMEs & companies that want to implement AI pilot projects, cooperate with start-ups or research institutions or develop their own AI solutions
- Public institutions &ecosystem actors that strengthen the Austrian AI and innovation ecosystem
Use is free of charge – as part of our publicly funded mission to drive AI application and innovation in Austria and Europe.
Prerequisites:
As AI:AT is part of a publicly funded European initiative, the following conditions apply:
- Only organizations based in a participating country of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) are eligible to use the coworking offer.
- A valid VAT number (sales tax identification number) is required.
How we select:
We select teams that work meaningfully with AI, fit well into our community and share our values around collaboration and responsible innovation.
We are looking for teams with growth potential that can both benefit from and contribute to the AI:AT ecosystem.
Our aim is to build a diverse and inspiring community in which everyone benefits from each other.
This is how it works:
- First occupancy: 3-6 months
- Extension: possible up to max. 12 months – depending on activity & community contribution
- Regular check-ins every 3 months: to ensure usage, progress & replacement

Expected presence time
We see coworking as an active community and not just a workplace. In order to promote exchange, visibility and collaboration, we attach great importance to a regular on-site presence:
- 💻 Community Desk: at least 10 days per month
- 🪑 Dedicated Desk: at least 12 days per month
- 🏢 Private office: at least 15 days per month
