One of the key activities of AI Factory Austria AI:AT is engagement with partners and the broader ecosystem across Austria, strengthening regional collaboration and exchange. A recent visit to Graz highlighted the importance of close coordination between research institutions, innovation actors and implementation partners.
AI:AT met with stakeholders shaping the regional AI and research landscape, foremost with Horst Bischof, Rector of AI:AT consortium partner TU Graz, as well as representatives from University of Graz, JOANNEUM RESEARCH, and DIH Süd.
A central topic throughout the discussions was the recognition that Austria’s strength in AI lies in its high-quality research base. The key challenge and a shared goal is translating this strength into scalable and impactful real-world applications.
This transition from scientific excellence to applied impact requires more than individual projects. It depends on coordination across institutions, access to infrastructure, and alignment between research and industry needs.
AI Factory Austria positions itself within this process as a connector and enabler — linking research, infrastructure and application, and supporting organisations in moving from concept to implementation.
