On 20 May 2026, AI Factory Austria AI:AT and Women in AI Austria welcomed a delegation from Türkiye to the AI:AT coworking hub in Vienna. The visit took place as part of the project “Developing Women Empowerment Models in the Manufacturing Industry,” implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Türkiye Country Office and the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK), in partnership with the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology and with financial support from the European Union.
The exchange focused on women’s empowerment in the manufacturing industry, digital transformation, and the role of AI skills and inclusive innovation in shaping the future workforce.
During the session, Women in AI Austria shared insights into fostering women’s participation in digital transformation, strengthening AI literacy within companies, and addressing bias in AI systems. The programme also included an interactive exercise on AI risk assessment and the EU AI Act, alongside a presentation of AI Factory Austria’s activities and concrete high-performance computing (HPC) use cases.
As part of a tour through the coworking hub, the delegation met several startups and innovators from the AI:AT ecosystem, including AI Baseline by Xenia Galkina, Alfons AI by Sarah Thelen, and Swisdata by Fabian Frauenberger. The discussions provided insights into real-world AI applications and the Austrian AI ecosystem.
Following the visit, AI:AT and Women in AI Austria held a separate meeting to explore opportunities for future collaboration. Topics included joint workshops, events, community exchange formats, and initiatives aimed at increasing the visibility of women in AI as experts, founders, and role models across the ecosystem.
The visit highlighted the importance of international collaboration in building inclusive and future-oriented AI ecosystems, as well as the shared commitment to shaping digital transformation in a responsible and diverse way.
