Training recap: Human control as a key element of Trustworthy AI
As part of its ongoing training activities, the AI:AT Ethics & Legal Team hosted the session “Human control: practice-oriented ethical, legal, technical perspectives on a key element of Trustworthy AI.” The training focused on the essential role of human oversight in ensuring that AI systems are developed and used in an ethical, responsible and trustworthy way.
Participants were introduced to seven key requirements of Trustworthy AI and gained practical insight into one of their most important dimensions: human oversight. The session explored different oversight models — Human-on-the-Loop, Human-in-the-Loop, Human-in-Command — and discussed how each approach can help ensure that humans remain meaningfully involved in AI-supported decision-making.
The session offered a valuable opportunity to connect ethical, legal and technical perspectives, and to translate the principles of Trustworthy AI into practical decision-making.
