From Idea to Innovation

The AI Factory Austria AI:AT – is a national initiative for the sustainable strengthening of the Austrian AI ecosystem. With state-of-the-art supercomputing infrastructure, targeted support services and a strong partner network, we create the basis for powerful, secure and economically viable AI applications.

Funded by the European High Performance Computing (EuroHPC) Joint Undertaking, AI:AT makes a key contribution to European competitiveness and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence.

AI:AT is a central building block for an AI ecosystem that is visible throughout Europe. We are creating synergies with lighthouse projects such as the planned AI center of the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology, the biomedical AI institute AITHYRA and the FWF Cluster of Excellence Bilateral AI.

Goals

Powerful AI infrastructure for cutting-edge research and business

The AI Factory Austria AI:AT is building an Austria-wide AI hub that networks and supports research, business and public institutions. Our goal is to increase the innovative strength of domestic companies, strengthen Austria as a technology location and put artificial intelligence into practice in a responsible manner.

Based on the Vienna Scientific Cluster (VSC), AI:AT is building a new, AI-optimized supercomputer. This infrastructure makes it possible to efficiently develop complex AI models and transfer them to a wide range of application fields – from biotechnology and sustainability to production and energy efficiency.

AI:AT ensures that artificial intelligence is developed and used responsibly in Austria. We create clear guidelines, secure data environments and promote cross-sector projects – with a particular focus on SMEs and start-ups.
